Great News!

Just found out the other day that No Turning Back has finaled in the OKRWA National Readers' Choice Awards! I was ecstatic to hear the news, even before I found out the book had been nominated for best romantic suspense with this list:

Cold Sight by Leslie Parrish
No Turning Back by Kaylea Cross
Edge of Sight by Roxanne St.Claire
A Rancher’s Brand of Justice by Ann Voss Peterson
Killer Heat by Brenda Novak
Desperate Deeds by Dee Davis

The winner will be announced at RWA Nationals in July. There's no way I'll win the category against competition like that, but I'm just tickled the judges loved the story so much. Especially because I represent a little e-publisher :) And, obviously I'm thrilled to have finaled amongst this group of powerhouse authors.

Like I've said before, Ben was a difficult hero for me to write, and the book is so violent and graphic it's not everyone's cup of tea, so finaling in a contest like this means a lot! If you love to root for the underdog, please send out good thoughts for Ben and Sam's story.

Hi, Wynter. Thanks, I'm pretty excited :) On Twitter Roxanne St. Claire contacted me to say she wanted to read my book. *fangirl squee*

Hello, Teenyann! I very much appreciate your good wishes. I'm gonna need them ;)

So NOW Blogger works (and yes, I'm well aware I'm really late with this)!

Congratulations, firstly.

Secondly, that's so cool about Roxanne St. Claire - I LOVE her books and when I saw both your names there I knew I'd be really mad if anybody other than one of you two won (but you first all the way!).

Thirdly, immediately after finding out about this, I had this really weird dream. We were in Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia (look it up!), and Ben was there. In every scene of my long dream. No, it was not kinky in any way - he was just there being a dope. I don't think I've ever had a book character dream before!

Hi, Zosia! Thanks for your support :)

I thought it was really cool that Roxanne contacted me like that. In general though, I've found the whole romance community to be very warm and supportive.

That dream is so neat! Are you SURE there wasn't anything kinky going down? I mean ON? Lol. Doesn't surprise me that Ben was being an ass. I know I always say what a pain he was while I was writing this series, but really, his personality was so strong he just leaped out of my imagination and kept demanding attention.

I'm so tickled to have finaled alongside the other authors, but I'm proud to be the only e-pubbed author there. *waves tiny flag*
